Classical music has a guitar hero named Miloš Karadaglić. His debut for DGG - Mediterrano - was such a success that Gramophone proclaimed him Young Artist of the Year 2011. In June 2012, the photogenic artist was honored on the front cover of Gramophone, although internally they wondered how long ago was that a guitarist graced the cover. However, Miloš Karadaglić has a mission that goes far
… beyond the importance of his 'looks'. 'The guitar repertoire is wonderful and there is a lot of it. It needs to be brought out of its niche and to have a renaissance, 'says Karadaglić. And that while in his youth he almost hung up on the guitar. However, his father played a performance of Albéniz 'Asturias by the legendary Andrés Segovia, after which his son was immediately over. Karadaglić's second DGG album offers a program of Latin American sounds from Piazzolla, Villa-Lobos, Brouwer, Ponce and others. 'So much of the most beautiful guitar repertoire comes from the Latin world', says the guitarist. 'Here you can connect with your innermost feelings, and communicate them through this intense, passionate music.' (HJ)more
