The cover of the album Beyond features three strong women from different cultural backgrounds but with a common goal: a loving union between people of different religions. As world famous as Tina Turner is, less known is that she is a Buddhist and has lived in Switzerland since 1994. Regula Curti is a Swiss music therapist, singer and yoga teacher. Dechen Shak-Dagsay is a Tibetan mantra singer who
… has lived in Switzerland since 1963 and has released several albums. During an interfaith dialogue in 2005 with the Dalai Lama and the Benedictine abbot Martin Werlen, the idea arose among friends Curti and Shak-Dagsay to give musical form to his universal message. Turner responded very positively to Curti's request to give her voice to this charitable project. Turner doesn't sing, but carries a self-written spiritual message inspired by Deepak Chopra and the Persian mystical poet philosopher Rumi. Curti sings Christian songs by the medieval mystical Abbess Hildegard of Bingen and Shak-Dagsay sings Tibetan mantras. Producers Gunther Mende and Mee Eun Kim-Mende have turned text, singing and meditative music into an atmospheric whole. (SvdP)more
