The Trui program by cabaret artist Hans Teeuwen was awarded an Edison in the Cabaret Artist category in 2001. Teeuwen is now widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best comedian in the Netherlands. In his latest program Dat Dan Weer Wel he flirts with this status by calling himself a genius and unique; 'It's lonely at the top', but then he completely undergoes himself with the same ease.
Teeuwen's greatest talent is his absurd sense of humor, his ability to completely transform from realism to surrealism and vice versa within a second. As a result, he constantly puts the public on the wrong track. Teeuwen shows himself to be unpredictable, unreliable, self-centered, rude and rude. Relentlessly, he rages against himself, the audience, all women, the Josti band, negroes, Jews, Christians, Muslims and Hell's Angels. In his songs he exposes a lot of himself, while accompanying himself on the piano. He speaks and shouts in ABN, a posh Dutch or Brabantian dialect. A fascinating and absurd record. (SvdP)more
