Friso Wiegersma is best known as a friend and lyricist of Wim Sonneveld, but he has also written for Willeke Alberti, Purple, Frans Halsema, Willem Nijholt and Corry van Gorp, among others. In 2000 Wiersma collected all his texts together in Telkens Weer Het Dorp and also talked about his youth, his relationship with Sonneveld and about the theater. This book gave rise to the idea of paying
… homage to Wiersma in the form of a theatrical concert. Wiersma's only demand was that his songs be performed by the best performers. And that happened: the 'old hands in the trade' Marnix Kappers and Jenny Arean and the popular musical stars Tony Neef and Joke de Kruijf sang, conducted by Ruud Bos and his quintet. Bos arranged twenty-six songs with great respect for the original versions. Some solo songs were edited for two or more singers. The double album Telkens Weer Het Dorp is a live report of the production. Humorous and moving songs such as Nikkelen Nelis, Time Out, Mother, Josefien and Het Dorp provide a lot of listening pleasure. (SvdP)more
