The Brussels singer and songwriter Johan Verminnen loves life. Since 1969, when he became known through the television program Discover De Ster, the troubadour has been singing about life and people in all their diversity in his Dutch-language chansons. Verminnen was co-founder of the Zamu interest group for singers and musicians and also wrote books about his mother (Princess of the Pajottenland)
… and about Brussels. In the album Over People, Boats And Cities he combines his passion for people, boats and cities in a kind of compilation album with old and new songs. The old songs have been given a new look and performed again. The beautifully designed CD booklet also contains the lyrics of the beautiful nostalgic listening songs about Brussels, the Flemish coast, life at sea and beautiful childhood memories. With his warm, dark voice and atmospheric arrangements, Verminnen takes no effort at all to take the listener on his journey through life. (SvdP)more
