Besides a funny woman, Brigitte Kaandorp is a good songwriter and singer. In her career she has tried several times to emphasize her musical side. Theater programs such as CD Opname and Op Weg Naar De Kuip, for example, have already proven that she takes the song seriously as a comedian. The deluxe edition Thuis also demonstrates this. In the beautifully illustrated book, Kaandorp writes that she has achieved a lot for a 'ukulele girl'. There is much to that comment. Kaandorp made her breakthrough in the 80s with funny songs she played on a ukulele. More than 30 years later, she sounds much more serious and varied. The 18 songs cover a wide area: from smartlap to pop song. Still, Kaandorp was already very musical with only a ukulele and funny songs like Annelies van der Pies.
