Lulu (Lucien) Gainsbourg is the youngest son of Serge Gainsbourg, born from a love affair with fashion model Bambou. Lulu was five years old when his father died of a heart attack. Although he learned to play the piano at that age and later took classes at the Paris Conservatory, he initially did not want (or dare?) To follow in his father's footsteps. However, after realizing that a music career
… is also his calling, he went on to study with conviction at Boston's Berklee College in London. Accompanied by some of Serge's former colleagues and an impressive list of famous guests, he releases his debut album, which is an explicit tribute to his father. On this eclectic album, Serge's songs receive a refreshing and quirky arrangement in jazz, gypsy-jazz, Afro-Cuban or French (whisper) pop style. Lulu is the producer, sings some vocals and plays the piano. Notable guests include married couple Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johansson, Richard Bona, Angelo Debarre, Rufus Wainwright, Marianne Faithfull, Iggy Pop, Shane McGowan, Matthieu Chedid and Ayo.
