You could expect at least one album from the popular Flemish tenor Helmut Lotti every year. After the album From Russia With Love (2004), however, Lotti took a 'sabbatical'. The release of the double album The Crooners, however, made the wait worthwhile. Lotti returns to the favorite music of his childhood, the music of crooners who, through their warm singing voice, carried the audience into a
… romantic musical adventure. Lotti also appears to be a born and bred crooner. On the first disc The American Way, he sings crooner classics by Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Nat King Cole and Dean Martin. Lotti sings the duet True Love with the Belgian singer Isabelle A (Adam). With the second disc My Way, Lotti proves to be a gifted composer and lyricist: it contains twelve own songs written according to the crooner tradition. Here Lotti sings the duet There's A Sparkle In Your Eyes with New Zealand singer Hayley Westenra. A top album for fans of Lotti and crooner music! (SvdP)more
