A promising debut! In the primal scream of flamenco singing, the Dutch singer Luna Zegers found the way to express her grief. Within six years she lost her father, sister and mother to fatal illnesses. In Spain, most flamenco singers come from a true flamenco family, but Zegers was the very first non-Spanish to be hired to study flamenco singing at the prestigious ESMUC conservatory in Barcelona. She graduated there in 2015 with a graduation performance Entre Dos Mundos (Between Two Worlds), which was very unusual for a singer. You can hear these self-written songs on her eponymous debut album. In passionate and emotional flamenco music, Zegers expresses emotions such as sadness but also joyful joie de vivre.
