For decades the world has enjoyed the cheerful music of the group The Gipsy Kings. The members of the Reyes and Bailardo families come from the southern French village of Arles and are all very talented musicians who touch their acoustic guitars with lightning-fast fingers and a sense of rhythm. The album Somos Gitanos contains no musical surprises: the music is in rumba flamenca style, the hybrid
… style of The Gipsy Kings. But the listener just wants to be carried away by the music, mostly written by lead singer Nicolas Reyes and lead guitarist Tonio Baliardo. Nice songs are the raï influenced Majiwi and a cover of Bob Marley's One Love. (SvdP)more
