With Suspiria, Thom Yorke follows in the footsteps of his colleagues and , who both ventured to create a soundtrack before. Yorke scored Luca Guadagnino's remake of Dario Argento's 1977 supernatural horror film. In this film, a ballet dancer enters a dance school run by a witch cult. Such a film requires a ghostly setting and Yorke has gone all out for that. A number of songs - such as Suspirium
… and Has Ended - have a hint of Yorke's earlier solo work. They are modest songs, but with a chilling edge. The rest of this 80-minute soundtrack is a dormant fever dream. Yorke creates a soundtrack with piano, synthesizers and strings that takes the form of a musical magic spell. (JvQ)more
