Julian Sas is perhaps the last, still fully active Dutch blues guitarist. An exponent of the international world of screeching solos, flowing hair, pounding boogies and tormented slow blues. After he has revolved around this, he returns to the Gelderland village of Beneden-Leeuwen. A nice bluesy title, Coming Home pays tribute to his home front and wooded habitat and was also recorded close to home.
And for the rest, Coming Home is another steaming blues rock album on which Sas opens the solo button of his guitar after a few minutes and the fourth song is already from: The Road Is My Companion. The rhythm section grooves tightly and organist Roland Bakker and Sas sometimes manage to push each other high. In short, Coming Home is a new album with a proven sound that allows fans to be completely (er) at ease. (MR)more
