You have to love it: tight fusion of virtuoso musicians with the (snare) drum nice and fat for the mix. You have to love it: lively bluegrass by virtuoso musicians with the banjo fat at the front of the mix. Suppose you love both: fusion with a lot of country and that you are also not averse to a sax fat in the mix, then you just have to have The Other Side Of Something by Bill Evans (the saxophonist!).
On this CD Evans is assisted by drum powerhouse Dennis Chambers, bass wonders Richard Bona and Victor Wooten, banjo players Bela Fleck and Ryan Cavanaugh and violinist Christian Howes. Together they made an album full of catchy fusion tunes with a lot of banjo and 'fiddle' strumming. Just like Evans' previous album Soulgrass, which earned a Grammy nomination in the US.
