Pyramid

With the album (2015) the Norwegian ensemble Jaga Jazzizt seemed to have reached the top of their ability. The virtuosity of this club of multi-instrumentalists took full advantage of this in songs that were brimming with ideas. In the meantime they signed with the American label Brainfeeder of Flying Lotus and they seem to have thought hard about how to proceed. The result is called Pyramid and… contains four drawn-out songs on which this time atmosphere and interaction dominate. The album opens with , a tribute to this Japanese electronic and ambient artist. It exudes tranquility in which electronic passages are alternated with jazzy rhythms and rock guitars. Where Jaga Jazzist used to be mainly a live band, their every-style-flapping-melange of post-rock, jazz-rock, psychedelics and world music, this time, produces a very enjoyable and atmospheric album.
