And indeed, as a viewer you are like a fly, and indeed a fly, sitting on the wall of the Bullet Sound Studios. There organist Bas van Lier and Jules Deelder came together with a number of friends (including Hans Dulfer and Benjamin Herman) to play jazz. Deelder mainly drums, but
… sometimes he even sings. Deelder is not the best singer in the world, but compensates for his vocal shortage with the impeccable attitude that is characteristic of the Netherlands' best-known jazz cat. Of course there are poems and anecdotes in between the songs, of course served up in juicy Rotterdam. All in all, a nice report of an unpretentious evening of jazz friends together. (PdK)more
