With a Togolese father and French mother, Prince grew up in an eclectic musical environment. Together with Ghanaian pianist Victor Dey Junior and Béninese percussionist Samuel Agossou, she traveled to Ouidah to study traditional chants and pair them with more modern styles. The album title Adjoko is Prince's Togolese nickname. With a warm and smooth voice, she sings swinging songs in English or Afrikaans that express her musical journey of discovery.
