The multicolored CD cover looks like this is a Eurohouse act, but nothing could be further from the truth. Christian Fennesz from Vienna is a computer wizard who releases ambient and experimental electronics on the renowned label Mego. On Endless Summer, the beats are missing, but you only hear soundscapes: sounds of LPs turning backwards, bleeps, clicks, synthesizer waves, vibraphone melodies,
… noise, bubbling water. As a result, the album sounds very clear and woolly and has a kind of timelessness in it. Endless Summer is Fennesz's fifth album, after his withdrawal from the experimental rock group Maische. (BP)more
