Dance act Filia Brazilia from Hull (England) consists of DJ Dave Park and founders / producers Steve Cobby and Dave McSherry. In the early nineties they became known and appreciated for a series of albums on which they mixed together instrumental funk, dub, house, hip-hop and acid-jazz. Over the past few years, Fila Brazillia has made a name for herself through beautiful remixes of hits from Lamb,
… (Cotton Wool), the Orb (Toxygene) and DJ Food (Freedom) and the 2001 remix album Another Late Night. Jump Leads is a studio album with mostly funky and poppy (break) beats, alternating in tempo and with beautiful samples. For the song DNA was drawn from The Snake And The Moon of the eighties wave group Dead Can Dance, while Mother Nature's Spies contains samples of the song Sabu by the African singer Oumou Sangare. As a result, Jump Leads is a varied and accessible album that is easy to listen to and has the potential to appeal to a wide audience. (BP)more
