Pink occupies a special place in the army of pop singers that hops over MTV every day. She is a branie girl, but at the same time she is not afraid to bring her most personal doubts into the limelight in her texts, which makes her a lot less one-dimensional than most of her cooing colleagues. Also musically she is not afraid to take risks. Her previous album Mizzundastood was all about her collaboration
… with the then forgotten Linda Perry, formerly of The 4 Non Blondes. This time she went into the studio with Tim O'Brien of the hard-hitting punk band Rancid. Again a great choice, the super sing-along pop songs get a lot of extra power. This time it is the songs she recorded with Perry that are not entirely convincing. So, that collaboration ended just in time. If one of the best singles of the year - the Feel Good Time written by Beck and William Orbit - comes along at the end, only one conclusion remains. Pink did it again. (MS)more
