Irish Luka Bloom is an introverted singer / songwriter with a predilection for the Netherlands, where he can often be found in theaters. One of his previous albums (Amsterdam) was recorded live in Carré. Before Sleep Comes is arguably his most minimalist record. That minimalism was more or less forced, as can be read in the CD cover: Luka had an injury to his hand that meant he could only gently
… strum a Spanish guitar for a long time. This went so well that he wanted to record the result. Two songs are instrumental and the rest is so subdued that you could fall asleep to it. And that is precisely the goal of Luka! So feel free to play this picture on an autumn night before going to sleep. (JdD)more
