Nu-metal band Linkin Park teamed up with rapper Jay-Z for a concert they gave together in Los Angeles. That joint performance went so well that the gentlemen did it again in the studio. The album mainly features adaptations of Linkin Park songs with Jay-Z raps on top. This formula turns out to work quite well, Jay-Z's solid raps give Linkin Park's slack rap pieces a lot more power. Yet even here
… the average Linkin Park song has the same ingredients, consisting of alternating loud / soft and scream / rap parts. The song Numb / Encore has become a modest hit. Other outliers are Points Of Authority and Jigga What. (JdD)more
