The Limburg trio Treble was able to use unusual elements - with ethnic rhythms on the djembe and texts in a non-existent language as the most important characteristics - to produce their own and at the same time extremely accessible sound. Producer Keith Olsen, who worked with all the greats from the international rock world, provided a sophisticated pop sound. Inevitably, this was somewhat at the expense of the ladies' individuality. In songs like Lama Gaia and Shei Shei, the typical Treble sound can still be heard loud and clear. But with the groomed, but also some good mainstream pop songs that dominate the album, the girls of Treble sound more than ever like the Dutch nieces of The Corrs. (MS)more
