The English singer Lucie Silvas is remarkably popular in the Netherlands. The Same Side, follow-up to her platinum-selling debut Breathe In (2005), will be released in a special Dutch version. This is not only released a few weeks earlier than in Great Britain, but also has a duet with Marco Borsato, the cover Everytime I Think Of You (originally from The Baby's). Cleverly, because it resulted in
… Silvas her first Dutch number 1 hit (for Borsato, by the way, his eleventh). For The Same Side Silvas strived for an authentic sound, with her singing and piano playing as the centerpiece. For this she worked together with producer Danton Supple, who was previously involved with Coldplays X&Y, among others. A good choice, because The Same Side is not only an album on which every song sounds good, but Silvas has also gained some depth. That cover with Borsato is actually a break in style with the rest of the CD. This version of The Same Side has a bonus DVD with a concert that Silvas gave in Amsterdam. (IV)more
