Alex Gopher plays a central role in the French dance world. He started his career in the band Orange, together with school friends Etienne de Crécy and Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Nicolas Godin from Air. After the band's breakup, Gopher continued on his own, although he still continued to work with his former bandmates. With De Crécy, for example, he founded the well-known label Solid. De Crécy and
… the guys from Air can also be found on his third, self-titled studio album. The typical French house with funk and disco influences has given way to a band sound in which guitars have been given a prominent role. And more importantly: Gopher himself sings in every song, and that sometimes takes some getting used to. Yet it does not disturb, and the retro songs, which sometimes still swing quite a bit, make for a pleasant album. This version has a bonus CD with five songs, two of which are remixes. (IV)more
