Nelly Furtado never made a secret of her love for hip-hop and R&B, but never before has this been heard so clearly as on her third album Loose. With the help of super producer Timbaland, Furtado went in search of a new sound, and with success. Nelly's new style sounds just as fresh and cheerful as before, but very different. Not everyone will appreciate Furtado's cover, that's for sure, because
… a large part of the songs really cannot be compared with the material from her first two CDs Whoa, Nelly! and Folklore. But how good many of those songs are, especially when Timbaland leaves his mark on it. Maneater, Promiscuous, Say It Right and Do It are great pop songs, and Wait For You especially stands out with the exciting Eastern percussion samples. The closing All Good Things (Come To An End) was co-written with Chris Martin (Coldplay). He was supposed to sing along too, but his record company decided to withdraw Martin's contribution afterwards. Doesn't matter, because even without him Loose is a candidate for pop album of the year 2006. This limited 'summer edition' features four bonus tracks: three songs by Loose (Te Busque, All Good Things and In God's Hands) and one by Folklore ( Try) in a Spanish version.
