Despite thirteen million CDs sold, Craig David is not completely satisfied with his career. He sold most of those thirteen million with his first CD Born To Do It (2000). The two that followed, Slicker Than Your Average (2002) and The Story Goes… (2005), were relative flops compared to his successful debut, so that his fourth studio album Trust Me has been labeled a 'comeback record'. … David has let go of the specific style of his debut. On Trust Me, which has mainly become a pop album with R&B influences, he gets little chance to show his smooth and unique 'flow'. That doesn't mean it's a bad record, though. David himself calls it a feel good album and with the many uptempolies he creates a cheerful atmosphere. Trust Me sounds a different Craig David than how we got to know him, but apparently he has every confidence in it himself. (IV)more
