Black Star, others will have come across him on the CDs of Musiq Soulchild. Anyway, 88 Keys has been an established name in hip-hop for years, although he has not been able to break even as a rapper. … could change that. Inspired by the murder of a man seeking sexual gratification, the rapper got to work. The result is a good, imaginative record with an accessible subject (for the men at least). The story is kept interesting by the contributions of the likes of Bilal, Redman, Kanye West and Phonte from Little Brother. The raps are fortunately supported by the dreamy, atmospheric productions that became his trademark over the years 88 Keys. (GL)more
