The Volendam group 3js - Jan Dulles, Jaap Kwakman and Jaap Schilder - were presented with the first copy of their debut album Water People by fellow townsman Jan Smit. Just like Smit, the 3js make Dutch-language pop songs, in which some influences from various music styles (folk, reggae) are played, but which still clearly continue to sound 'Volendams'.
