Tunde Adebimpe and David Sitek started the band TV on the Radio at the beginning of the noughties. Between 2004 and 2008, the experimental pop group made three albums that became a bit more accessible and successful. … fourth full-length Nine Types Of Light is the first album to be recorded outside of New York. The new environment has not resulted in a gigantic style change, although Nine Types Of Light is remarkably unambiguous. Adebimpe said about this that the album may sound simpler than previous work, as the group keeps getting better at combining different styles. And it must be said that the elements of rock, electro and hip-hop are perfectly blended into a whole that never sounds illogical.
