Mark Olson is back on the old nest. After living a relatively secluded life as a solo artist for more than ten years, he can now be heard on a new album by The Jayhawks. … The Jayhawks went a lot less successful. However, the contact between Olson and the band was not completely broken. The CD Ready For The Flood (2008), which he made with the other prominent Jayhawks member Gary Louris, already indicated this. It now appears to have been a stepping stone to Mockingbird Time, the first Jayhawks album with Olson since Tomorrow The Green Grass (1995). The group makes music as if time has not stood still. Especially the polyphonic vocals sound effortless. In addition to a stunning ensemble performance, The Jayhawks also perform good old-fashioned songs.
