… Whole Love, although less catchy than the previous albums, again guarantees a dose of masterful pop music. Singer / guitarist Jeff Tweedy again provides a few beautiful listening songs, guitarist Nels Cline plays a solo and bassist John Stirratt puts down a great groove from time to time. In fact, nothing seems impossible for these men of respectable age. That is at the same time also the tragedy of Wilco. The careless speed with which the band creates its masterpieces means that they are sometimes overlooked. Hopefully that is not the case with The Whole Love, because pop fans should not deny themselves this record. (JE)more
