Danger Mouse was already involved in the production in the early years of The Black Keys and the new collaboration has also resulted in a solid album. El Camino opens with perhaps the strongest song from the album Lonely Boy. Furthermore, on the majority of the songs on El Camino, a backing choir plays a prominent role, which means that this album also has some pop influences. All in all, El Camino is a versatile blues rock album, which is not innovative, but a daring successor to the very successful Brothers. (BvdV)more
