In the wake of electronics DJ , singer Jessie Ware broke through in 2011. The English softened the aggressive sound of the DJ both on record and on stage with her heavenly singing. Partly for this reason, her debut album Devotion was welcomed with great interest and reached fifth place on the charts in Great Britain. Meanwhile, Devotion has been well-discussed by the authoritative critics of The
… Guardian and Pitchfork. Ware therefore offers the best of both worlds. Blessed with a velvety voice that reminds us of our in the distanceand a healthy dose of experimentation, Ware balances between deadly commercial pop and interesting electro. Her songs aren't even overly special, but the production certainly is. Very sweet r & b sounds are effortlessly combined with false keyboards (Sweet Talk) and twisted beats (Still Love Me). The result is serene and sometimes a bit chilly, which contrasts nicely with the warm voice of the singer. A special debut that looks forward to the future. (JE)more
