For many singer / songwriters, drastic events in life are an important source of inspiration for writing new music. Marinus de Goods, lead singer of the company A Balladeer wrote the song Tarot, Tequila in 2002 after the loss of his good friend Martine. In the end, it took him over ten years to find the right time to actually expand the song. Tarot, Tequila forms a triptych on I Can't Keep Track Of
… Each Fallen Robin with 5 Minutes Beside A Hospital Bed and 'For Isabelle, in memory of Martine. As always, A Balladeer knows how to hit the nerve with poetic, poignant lyrics and certainly with this triptych. A good dose of poetry can also be found on the other songs, combined with subtle guitar work. But even without instrumental accompaniment De Goods knows how to impress, as can be heard in the narrative Robin. I Can't Keep Track Of Each Fallen Robin has become a fine piece of songwriting.
