Royal Parks is Diederik Nomden's first solo album. Most will know him as a former guitarist and keyboardist for the acclaimed band Johan. Nomden further earned his spurs in the company of Daryll-Ann, but made his debut in 1996 when he founded the band Redivider, which later continued under the name Alamo Race Track. After having played for others for more than a decade, it was old Johan band member
… Johan de Greeuw who persuaded him to start a solo project. Not surprisingly, Nomden transferred his work to Excelsior, where he also achieved success with Johan. Royal Parks has become a real Excelsior record with beautiful singer / songwriter numbers. Nomden shows to be a great singer and to stand on their own two feet. He rocks on Taken From Me and Out On Parole, sounds dreamy on She and Little Bird and dark on the obscure From My Home. With so much talent, Nomden should have released a solo record much earlier. But, better late than never. (BvdV)more
