Heavy Flowers is the third album by Arnhemmer Johannes Sigmond, better known as Blaudzun. Sigmund named himself after an unknown Danish cyclist from the 1970s. Heavy Flowers follows after a successful year for Blaudzun in which he gained national fame through performances on Lowlands and the television program de Wereld Draait Door. Heavy Flowers is a typical singer / songwriter album with some
… particularly strong songs such as the heavy Elephants and the melancholic Heavy Flowers. Every now and then Blaudzun seems to force his voice a bit, which distracts from his fine lyrics. A shame, because on a song like Who Took The Wheel he shows to be a great singer. All in all, Heavy Flowers has become a decent album that sounds a lot more mature than the 2010 released Seadrift Soundmachine. with which he might also be successful across the border. (BvdV)more
