Behind the striking stage name fLako is Dario Rojo Guerra, a German with Chilean roots who lives and works in London. Guerra once made instrumental hip-hop and besides fLako he is also a soul singer, for which he uses the second stage name Dirge Gerner. On Natureboy you can hear that Guerra can manipulate many more genres. It almost makes sense that he has multiple alter egos, because his versatility
… seems to know no bounds. Solo For ChloĆ« is reminiscent of the first electro pop of the fifties, Som De Aura consists of sweet monastic singing, Gelis is downtempo, Kuku is exciting and we can go on for a while. On With Me Now even Dirge Gerner stops by to add some soul to the jazz track with his smooth vocals. It is all very varied and yet it is all Guerra. A producer who can go in all directions and does that convincingly on Natureboy. (JE)more
