With the release of Made In The AM, One Direction seems to be at a dead end. The boy band lost band member Zayne Malik in early 2015, who preferred to continue solo. History teaches us that these types of groups find it difficult to absorb such losses. Take That was doomed without Robbie Williams, and the career of the Spice Girls went wild without Geri Halliwell. One Direction has also indicated
… that Made In The AM will be the last album for the time being. The four remaining members will go on vacation indefinitely after 2015. The fifth CD by the British men also sounds like the gentlemen are ready for something else. One Direction seemed to be getting more adventurous with this album, on this CD they clearly play it safe. Except for a few surprises, such as the doowop of Never Enough, Made In The AM is a run-of-the-mill album. This is not a problem for the large fan base, but deep down they will also think back to better times. (JE)more
