Initially HitnRun Phase Two would not be released on CD. The successor to would only be downloadable. Prince's untimely death probably changed this. Unlike the predecessor, Prince has taken more time to compose fully developed songs. Phase One was very fragmentary in character with 11 songs in 38 minutes, but it showed someone who went back to the peak of his career. Phase Two does that too, but
… with a less chaotic slant. His unique blend of funk, jazz, soul and rock recalls the Prince from his Revolution period, the time of which he will always be remembered. All in all, a worthy goodbye. However, it won't be the last we heard from His Royal Badness, because there is still plenty of material from this genius in the vaults of his studio. (AD)more
