If you put the covers of all Texas albums next to each other, you will see a striking pattern. After (black with only band name and title Southside) and the two moody successors (on which the band members usually look as if they have eaten their last ear), someone - presumably a marketer - came to the idea of singer bit more forward. First cautiously - on transition album we only see her
… eyes - but from onwards. Her band mates (men of the 'put on some black' type) disappeared from view. Funnily enough, the music of the Scots kept pace: from honest roots rock with influences from the blues and to polished hit parade pop with a touch of white soul. In addition to hits like Say What You Want and Inner Smile, the band gained a large crowd of new fans. At Jump On Board they get a familiar place: nine tidy pop songs - with Can't Control and Tell That Girl as highlights - and one song 'old style' (including beautiful slide guitar): Sending A Message.
