Hey, a new Judas Priest album that sounds like Judas Priest. Nice! Although already founded in 1969, this British band sailed with the rise of the new wave of British heavy metal in the early eighties. In 1980 they also delivered their breakthrough record . Judas Priest was perhaps the most cartoonish exponent of British hard rock. The high-pitched singer had actually picked his tough leather outfit
… with lots of studs and chains from the gay scene, just like his sense of grotesque theatricality on stage. In addition, the group deals in flashy, not too complex heavy metal with here and there some glam injections and obligatory lyrics dripping with cheap horror. That is no different on Firepower. But no one can do this better than Judas Priest. Almost 30 years after British Steel, they still sound in top form. (MR)more
