After 20 years of touring and recording with , Sharon den Adel thought it was high time for something different. To relax, she started writing songs. Songs that just didn't fit with Within Temptation. Anyone who has been following Sharon den Adel for some time knows that the singer has a broad musical taste. For example, she lent her voice to with whom she scored a big hit (In And Out Of Love).
With this first My Indigo album, the singer is clearly looking for the mainstream. Something of the bombast of Within Temptation can be heard in the title track where the drums are turned on and Den Adel lets her voice echo as ever. Really a song that seems tailor-made for a show in a large stadium. The piano ballad Out Of The Darkness and the electropop of Indian Summer are miles away from Within Temptation, but Sharon's recognizable voice from thousands of voices clearly gives this album its added value.
