To take the next step, the band hired star producer Greg Kurstin (including , and ), the ever socially conscious singer Lauren Mayberry does a duet with of and pushes the sound even further towards commercial EDM. For the fans of the first hour, that is a bit of a swallow. But what Chvrches loses in subtlety, it gains in eloquence.
