Love sickness. It inspires many an artist. The long-awaited follow-up to Jungle's is also based on it. The title refers to the fear of commitment of the ex-girlfriends of Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland. The common thread on For Ever is a love bubble that bursts. Thematically, this sequel offers a different perspective than the self-titled debut. Musically, the British pair walk more or less
… the same path and take a small exit here and there. Neo-soul with funky beats and rousing melodies are still the basis. But the contrast in tempo between songs is greater and the high falsetto voices (sometimes heard by make think) plus choir-like background vocals add extra drama within the thematic framework. Because no matter how summery this album sounds - just like its predecessor - there is a nice form of sadness in the songs. It gives this handsome album a nice layering. (JvQ)more
