Wouter Hamel returns at Boystown to the twilight zone between pop and jazz that he became famous for. He wanted this after he had gone more for cheerful pop music on his previous album (2017). This time he collaborated with Thierry Castel, they wrote the songs for this album separately. On his previous album Muziekweb wrote that Hamel could be heard in his own skin and Boystown seems to be built
