After (2012), the British band was plagued by setbacks, such as the intense cocaine addiction and divorce that hit frontman . He kicked off and regained itself and so the band found the strength and friendship again to make a new album. This resulted in Cause And Effect, on which the band clearly harks back to the hopeful piano pop of their early days. The album opens shyly, but Chaplin sings
