It is the first album in a long time on which singer and guitarist Billy Joe Armstrong can be heard sober again. After completing the triptych , and (2012), he checked into rehab to deal with his drinking and pill addiction for good. Now Green Day is clearly looking forward to
… it again, with an album full of energetic songs that nod to glam (Oh Yeah, featuring one by borrowed chorus), pure rock and roll (Stab You In The Heart) and of course a lot of catchy punk pop. Cheerful and nihilistic sounds the trio that took punk into the mainstream at the end of the eighties, never forgetting to deliver strong and easily sing-along songs. (MR)more
