Jessie Ware as a dancing diva. On her fourth album What's Your Pleasure? the British singer explores the electronics of her debut album (2012), but this time with less influences from soul and R&B. After focusing on her relationship and motherhood on (2017) and taking on a stately persona, Ware sounds free and brash on this album. She still sings about love, but this time under the wings of
… disco and house. It is therefore a natural choice that she chose James Ford as producer and co-producers like and Joseph Mount managed to snare. Almost every song is a straight floor filler, without Ware losing the sensuality that she effortlessly evokes with her beautiful voice. Ware meanders from the smooth nu-disco in Spotlight, via the teasing Ooh La La to the rousing closing track Remember Where You Are and incorporates many 70s and 80s influences within it. What's Your Pleasure? is an album full of pure dance music with a thick layer of romance spread over it. (JvQ)more
