There is almost no lady in the band Sea Girls. The British foursome is a gifted supplier of catchy indie anthems, according to their debut album. Not surprising that the group was allowed to release their first album on Polydor. The sound is somewhere in between say , , and . Although the momentum is nice, after a few songs you start to wonder what is so authentic about the sound of Sea Girls.
That is also where the problem lies, because this indie group is not original. We've heard those screeching guitars before. For the festival summer - which we unfortunately had to miss in 2020 - this debut album is perfect again. (JvQ)more
