With every new album by the American Ernest Greene you think again that his music couldn't sound more relaxed. After moving more towards the dance floor with the audiovisual project (2017) and producing a fragmented sound, Greene sounds again on Purple Noon as he sounded on (2011) and (2016). Although his music is always quite repetitive, those albums still contained some nice highlights. Purple
… Noon is a dreamy knit, in which the song Game of Change stands out because of the guitars. The rest of the album glides by pleasantly while Greene sings about his (lost) lover. Greene's music can still be described as bedroom pop, although this album functions a little too much like sleeping sand. (JvQ)more
